Grouse House located at 25km on the Telegraph Creek Road in Dease Lake, BC

grouse house

This house is a collection of stories.  Stores of inspiration, wildlife, reflection and craft.  Staying in the 3 bed Grouse House you will have an experience unheard of in our modern era.

Almost everything you touch or interact with was hand crafted, quilted, shaped or whittled by hand. Logs for this cabin were harvested and milled onsite with the natural resources surrounding us.  Much of everything in this cabin is geared towards being self sufficient and learning to use the resources on hand.

Slip in between a set of fresh organic cotton sheets taken right off the clothesline.  The master bedroom is located on the lower level and sleeps 2 on a full bed.  Upper loft contains 2 twin beds and sleeps 2 comfortably.  There was plenty more space in the loft so we added a kids corner complete with toddler mattress.

Meal preparations are easy with a completely stocked kitchen with a propane fridge and stove.

Bathroom is complete with toilet, sink and shower.

Handcrafted delights are injected all throughout the Grouse House in hopes to brighten up your day.  We hope to meet you.

“quiet peaceful place, a must stay for more than one night.”

It was an real incredible experience for me. I loved watching the moose walk through the property. I wish I could stay here forever! Thanks for making the evening an unforgettable one.

Escape into the wild and relish the ritual of chopping wood, lighting the wood stove, disconnecting from your devices, and reconnecting with nature as you soak under a blanket of stars.

No gadgets, no bells and whistles.  Just water, firewood, and good company.  It’s pared down living at its finest.  Rent one for your visit.

Fresh Coffee

Enjoy some French Pressed Coffee.  This design allows the raw grounds to be in contact with the water directly allowing the essential oils of coffee to be diffuse throughout the water.

As a result, more good ingredients such as antioxidants and nutrients, end up in your coffee instead of just flavor.
